Today on EKU’s campus, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce held the Legislative Luncheon, in which multiple Kentucky lawmakers spoke to the crowd of elected officials, business owners, and citizens with an update from Frankfort.
Pension reform was discussed at length by all those that took to the podium, as well as school safety following the recent rash of gun violence and threats both nationally and here in Central Kentucky.
WBON-TV caught up with Senator Carpenter afterwards to get his input on what the highlights of the Business at Noon luncheon was, as well as hear about progress about HB 166, which was in committee today to hash out details of possibly legalizing the use of medical marijuana here in Kentucky.
Also of note was the Economic Engine Award, which was given to both Richmond and Berea Tourism Directors by the Kentucky Travel Industry Association. The group recognized the county as both areas have reportedly contributed a significant amount to the overall $14.5 Billion in revenue that is generated by tourism across the Commonwealth.
