Recently, Jennifer Brubaker with God’s Outreach and the Madison County Food Bank reached out to the Madison County Community Fund, the local arm of The Bluegrass Foundation, and shared that their 25-year-old electric tow mower had run out of steam.
The Madison County Community Fund Board came together and authorized $5,000 to help purchase the much-needed new tow mower. In addition, the Richmond Rotary Club Foundation was contacted and funded the remaining $2,000 that was needed to purchase the new tow mower.
According to Anthony Lowrey, the Executive Director of God’s Outreach, he has searched the Internet and found a replacement for the old tow mower that was a gift from Hyster 25 years ago when God’s Outreach was formed in Madison County.
God’s Outreach serves 1,900 families monthly with supplemental food in Madison Country, Estill County, and Powell County. In addition, 3,500 Madison County children receive weekend backpacks full of food. God’s Outreach also serves over 120 seniors in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
God’s Outreach is touching hearts and changing lives.
