Liberty Place Holiday Luncheon/Auction to Continue through Saturday Online

Liberty Place Recovery Center will still hold their biggest fundraiser of the year, however it is being done with an online twist due to the ongoing pandemic.

According to Karen Atkins, Public Information Officer at Kentucky River Foothills, the annual holiday auction will be easier to access, as everything is virtual. Although it won’t see its usual in-person attendance, the event will have benefits that are not normally seen with the traditional auction.

As it is being held online, those who want to get involved on the bidding process for the valuable items will not only be able to place bids safely from the comfort of their own homes, but they can also receive notifications providing updates on the items they bid on.

With over 100 items ranging from trips to holiday desserts, there is no shortage of gifts to place bids on. Atkins adds that people considering bidding on one of the trip packages should not worry about being unable to enjoy their prize, as they will be honored at any time in a 3 year period beginning at the end of the auction.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, the online auction could act as both a way to mark the last few names off of gift lists and a way to provide local funding for the Richmond based recovery center. Atkins says that all proceeds from the auction will help provide much needed items for the residents of Liberty Place who are recovering from alcohol and drug addiction.

The online auction is currently ongoing until November 14th at 10 p.m., and the holiday luncheon will take place on the KY River Foothills social media pages earlier that day at 1 p.m.
