In an update to the ongoing homicide investigation in Estill County, Kentucky State police have identified the victim who was found in a roadway deceased Wednesday. She has been identified as 50-year-old Cindy Donnela Stevens-Roberts of Ravenna. KSP say that they still cannot confirm the cause and manner of her death at press time.
Stevens-Roberts was found deceased and covered in blood around 10 a.m. Wednesday in Estill County, which has now sparked a homicide investigation. According to Estill County Coroner Jimmy Wise, he told WBONTV that she was found in the Marble Yard area in the Western area of the county, near the Powell County line.
The woman was discovered dead in the middle of the road by emergency crews following a 911 call.
The woman’s body has been taken to Frankfort for an autopsy which is currently being done as of press time. Coroner Wise says they ran fingerprints on the woman, but it took almost a full day to identify her, as her family is from outside Kentucky.
The coroner adds they don’t know yet if the woman was killed where she was found or if she was killed elsewhere and her body was dumped. KSP say that now that her name has been released, they hope to receive information from the public to assist in the homicide investigation.
