A domestic violence call in Richmond on Thursday afternoon resulted in a barricade situation and a large police presence on Westover Avenue.
Officers first arrived on the scene Thursday around 4:30 to a domestic violence report. Police say 20-year-old Cameron House refused to open the door to police and barricaded himself in the home.
After about two hours, Richmond Police Chief Rodney Richardson confirms House surrendered to police without incident. Richardson added “No one was harmed, and it was the ideal resolution to any such incident.”
WBON-TV has learned from a member of the House family, that Cameron House is the son of Guy House. The man who shot State Police Trooper Jude Remilien during a traffic stop on Terminal Drive near Lexington’s Bluegrass Airport just over a year ago. House then fled in a stolen vehicle to the Richmond Road Baptist Church, where he killed 72-year-old Beverly Gumm and 34-year-old Christina Combs. Three Lexington police officers shot and killed House at the church July 13, 2025.
In one of House’s many run-ins with the law, he too was involved in an hours-long standoff with police trying to arrest House for outstanding warrants. House reportedly had a gun and later ran off into the woods near the interstate.
House also finally surrendered to officers in that incident after officers spent hours negotiating with him.
Cameron House was charged with:
ASSAULT, 2ND DEGREE – DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, KIDNAPPING ( WITH SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY) TERRORISTIC THREATENING, 3RD DEGREE
