Statement from Deputy Michael Stotts
Two Madison County women are now in custody after a child was discovered running on Merrick drive naked and was nearly hit by a car. According to the Madison county sheriff’s department, they arrived at the home of 30 year old Krystyn Lawson to find six other children living in alleged deplorable conditions. All 7 children were removed from the home. Lawson, as well as 18 year old Shelby Barrett were taken to the Madison county detention center. Both were charged with wanton endangerment and seven counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
