The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted on Monday, February 12, 2018 after a two year old child was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where the child later died.
The initial investigation alleges that the two year old’s injuries were sustained while in the care of a 31 year old Berea man. As a result of the ongoing investigation, William H. Butler, 31 years old of Berea was arrested this morning. Butler has been lodged in the Madison County Detention Center charged with Murder, Criminal Abuse 1st Degree of a Child Under 12, and Failure to Report Child Neglect or Abuse 1st Degree. Seara M. Clements, 26 years old of Berea, was also arrested and charged with Murder, Criminal Abuse 1st Degree of a Child Under 12, and Failure to Report Neglect or Abuse 1st Offense. They have both been lodged at the Madison County Detention Center.
