A man is now dead in Richmond, following a trench collapsing at the construction site of the Menard’s location on big hill avenue and the bypass. The man was working in the ditch when it collapsed, burying him.
The Coroner reports that the man was 38 year old Loren Richmond.
He is working on an autopsy to determine the cause of death, whether it was by heavy equipment or crushing by dirt.
According to Richmond Firefighter Corey Lewis, The trench was very deep and dangerous for rescue crews, and it took hours before they were able to enter the area to recover the body.
