Tuesday February 20, 2018
On September 25, 2017 36 year old Tim Engle of Gray, Ky. escaped from Jackson County Detention center after being charged with several felonies.
A warrant was issued for hisarrest. Information had been received that Tim Engle had returned to Knox County and was living in the Gray area of Knox County. Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith and his deputies had made several attempts in the past to apprehend Tim Engle, but he continued to elude capture.
On Monday February 20, 2018 at approximately 1:30 pm Knox County Deputies Claude Hudson and Sam Mullins traveled to his residence on KY 459 in Gray in an attempt to execute the warrant.
When the deputies arrived, Tim Engle ran out of the back door of the residence, the deputies were able to give chase. He was apprehended after a lengthy foot pursuit that continued quite a distance into the flood waters alongside KY 459.
Enfle was charged with Escape-2nd Degree.
Additional charges of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Fleeing Evading Police-1st Degree and Resisting Arrest will be forth coming.
A female at the residence, 36 year old Chrissey Renae Johnson of Gray, KY was also arrested and charged with Hindering Prosecution or Apprehension-1st Degree and Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree. She was also wanted on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on eight (8) traffic violation charges.
Tim Engle and Chrissey R Johnson were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
