The people of First Friday Berea’s Levitt AMP Berea Music Series are seeking help from the community while also hoping to give back through a new campaign. After their 2022 presenting sponsor pulled, First Friday Berea took to social media to “amp up” the community they love by starting the “100 Women Amplified – Raising Stories and Sharing Voices” campaign.
According to their website, the First Friday Berea team posted that they are “recruiting 100 people to donate $100 to First Friday Berea in order to address this deficit that threatens the success of the series. In doing so, we want to amplify the women in our lives.”
They are encouraging members of the community to nominate women of all ages who inspire them, even if it’s yourself, local and otherwise. This campaign is aimed to symbiotically keep the Levitt AMP Music Series able to provide free, local entertainment, while also giving a platform to the budding and brilliant women of our community.
Ali Blair, Levitt AMP Project Lead and Director of First Friday Berea shared, “It’s very unique. We bring a lot of different music styles and cultural backgrounds together. It takes money and partnerships to be able to put a series like this on,” highlighting the power of free music to bring people together and revitalize outdoor town spaces. “We are excited about this 100 Women Amplified series because we want to amplify women in our community. It has been very moving and emotional to see the nominations so far,” Blair continued.
“I’m nominating my daughters who inspire me every day. We are proud supporters because we want this series to be around for years to come.” shared Lindsay Caudill of Berea after her daughter, Maddie, played for the Levitt series AMP last summer.
The $100 tax-deductible donation can be done through their website, www.firstfridayberea.com, where a photo and short paragraph about the nomination can be made. You can find nominations by searching the hashtag #100womenamplified on Instagram or by going to their Instagram page @ firstfridayberea.
