Due to ongoing COVID concerns, the Battle of Richmond re-enactment slated for this weekend has been cancelled.
This marks the second year in a row that the popular annual event has been shuttered due to healthcare concerns.
According to the organizers of the re-enactment, the decision was made after consulting with healthcare officials and the health department here in Madison County.
The yearly event takes place right where part of the infamous battle occurred back on August 29th and 30th of 1862.
