What looked like innocent gummy worms actually turned out to be laced with Xanax in Franklin county. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the drug bust occurred after a search of a residence on Sunday.
Officials report that this discovery of what looked to be innocent candies was “troubling”. Until this point, officers were used to seeing THC laced candies, but the new Xanax batch they uncovered was something totally new.
No one arrested in the case has yet to be publicly identified, but police warn that THC vape pens and such laced items are now becoming more common, and could make their way to Central Kentucky if they haven’t already.
Police also seized marijuana, methamphetamine, pills, and cocaine in the large bust.
