The doors of Bluegrass Barrel House on Big Hill Avenue in Richmond have been back open for business and better than ever after a devastating fire that occurred exactly one year ago today.
The bar was declared a total loss, and the adjacent Bernie’s motorcycle shop also suffered damage from the inferno. Owner of BBH Raela Phoenix says that had it not been for the immense support from the community the family owned and operated watering hole would never have bounced back like it has.
After exactly a year tonight, July 3rd, Phoenix says that there will be a pre-fourth of July party to commemorate last year’s blaze and the subsequent rebuild at BBH.
All are welcome to attend, and Phoenix adds that because of the rebuild and new look that many people from all over have come to the bar to check it out.
However, for the regulars that frequent the local bar, there are still multiple pieces that remain inside that survived the inferno in remembrance of the original bar.
