The Madison County Coroner is on the scene of the Super 8 Motel on North Keeneland Drive in Richmond.
According to Kentucky State Police: one man found dead from single gunshot on the second floor of the motel. Reportedly self-inflicted following standoff with Richmond PD. The entire floor was evacuated and all got out safely from the hotel.
The suspect is allegedly a wanted individual out of Michigan for a reported double homicide. The suspect is confirmed to be staying in the hotel at the time of the shooting and officers made contact with the individual. Original calls for the incident occurred between 2:30 and 3:00 pm this afternoon, and police, EMS, and coroner still on the scene.
