A longstanding Madison County tradition will not be happening this year. According to a social media post on the Madison County Fairgrounds page, the 2020 Madison County Fair is cancelled.
The news comes after months of sudden shutdowns all over the state, adding one more event to the long list of event cancellations. The announcement, similarly to the recent statement made by local officials that public swimming pools will not be opened this season, has garnered both frustration and support from locals.
“We tried every way to make it happen but unfortunately we just cannot make it work”, the post reads. “We hope each of you are doing well and are staying healthy.”
