On July 17th around 9:30pm, Deputy Martin of the Powell County Sheriffs Office was dispatched to the area of Brown St. and Campton Rdd in reference to an accident with injuries involving 3 vehicles. Preliminary investigation indicated that a Dodge Ram pickup being driven by the David Slemp of Clay City, had crossed over into the opposite lane of travel and made contact with two vehicles.
3 out of 5 people involved in the collision, including Slemp, were transported for non life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the collision investigation, David Slemp was arrested and lodged on the following charges..
David Slemp, 54.
– Operating a motor vehicle under the influence substance, 2nd Offense (Aggravated)
– Operating on Suspended License
– Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree (4 counts)
