The Red House Runners wrapped up a successful 2026 cross country season, continuing to represent their community with dedication, determination and hard work.
The Red House Runners are a sports ministry sponsored by Red House Baptist Church in Richmond. The team competed in eight regular-season races throughout the year, traveling across the commonwealth from Montgomery County to McCreary County, as well as competing in the city of Somerset.
The 2026 season also brought a new opportunity for homeschool athletes with the first-ever Kentucky Homeschool Cross Country Championships, held in Louisville in late October. Several Red House Runners turned in impressive performances at the championship.
Ginevra Pope earned a second-place finish in the middle school girls race, while Isaiah Pope placed fifth in the elementary 2K race. Emmery Cole finished 10th in the high school girls 5K, and Tucker Batey claimed sixth place in the high school boys 5K, setting a new personal record of 17:11.
The team’s success throughout the season was the result of the athletes’ commitment and the support and guidance of coaches Aaron Batey and Kent Gray.
Congratulations to all the Red House Runners on a successful 2026 season!
