On Wednesday evening November 4th of this week, just before 9:00 p.m., deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office report officers responded to a report of a shooting on Maple Grove Road.
When deputies arrived, they say they located an individual who had sustained a gunshot wound. The individual was transported by Madison County EMS to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
Preliminary information indicates the shooting may have been accidental. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. Due to the nature of the case, the victim’s identity is being withheld at this time.
The investigation is being conducted by Lieutenant Todd Allen of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. No further information is being released at this time.
