Statement from Rep. Candidate Mundy Regarding Weekend DUI Arrest

Following this weekend’s DUI arrest, Representative for District 88 Candidate Monteia Mundy released the following statement to social media:

“It is with great remorse that I apologize for my actions on Saturday evening. I apologize to my family, my colleagues, and my community. While the news reports are distorted and based on hearsay, I made a mistake. I still feel that this is God’s calling for my life and I am thankful to serve a forgiving Savior. For those of you that know me personally, you know that this is not my normal behavior. I used bad judgment to make a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone that was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. I am sorry for any action that has caused concern, disappointment, or doubt. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened in my life. I will work tirelessly to restore your confidence in me, and I guarantee that it will not happen again. I am so grateful for the outpouring of prayers and support from friends, community members, and constituents.”
