A high speed chase that started in Winchester ended up involving officers from Powell County as well when the suspect hit multiple cruisers with his truck and then attempted to flee police on foot.
Winchester Police started the pursuit of Aaron Elliot that went through Montgomery County and entered into Powell County.
During the chase, police say Elliot’s truck was speeding and crossed the median, hitting a Stanton patrol car, as you can see in this stunning footage captured and submitted by a viewer.
After the collision, Elliot tried to flee over the hill into brush but was captured and placed under arrest. He is charged with first degree assault, fleeing and evading police, resisting arrest and reckless driving among other charges. The officer involved in the collision was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
