What was an active emergency scene in the area of UK Chandler Hospital in Lexington has finally started to clear following the arrest of a man who, according to police, was armed and dangerous. FBI, area bomb squads, and emergency responders were on scene since around 11:00 am Thursday morning.
UK Police said in a press conference that the department was tipped off of the suspect, 44-year-old Bryan Carroll, of Versailles, who was headed to the hospital to visit a family member.
Police add that possible explosives were found in Carroll’s car, and body armor and firearms were located on his person.
The emergency situation has passed according to police and all may safely resume your regularly scheduled activities in the area. All roadways are now open including Limestone and UK Police report that those on campus are safe, it was the area of the hospital that was in question from the alleged suspicious package.
