Greg Stotelmyer, long time voice of the Colonels sat down with WBONtv’s Michael Watkins to tell him about his career. Stotelmyer has been the voice of the EKU Colonels since the late 70’s.
Throughout the years Stotelmyer has built many relationship and seen EKU rise and fall. In 2015-16 he was the winner of the 2015-16 Ohio Valley Conference Media Award.
He has called more than 300 consecutive EKU football games including all four FCS National championship games (1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982). In his role as EKU’s men’s basketball play-by-play announcer he has called three NCAA Tournament games including the team’s near upset of Kansas in 2014. He also produced and/or hosted the EKU football and basketball coaches television shows for 25 years.
