The Monster Energy Series returns to Kentucky Motor Speedway this weekend for the seventh straight season. Nascar’s top drivers will look to improve their odds to make the Chase for the Playoffs. In the seven years of racing in Kentucky there have only been four different winners.
The track is a 1.5 mile tri oval speedway that has eluded the top drivers in the series. Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr, nor Tony Stewart could ever tame the track. Current legends like Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick are looking to check the track off their list. 2011 was the first race and Kyle Busch came out on top. Busch would win again in 2015. Brad Keselowski won in 2012 is the track leader in wins with a two more victories in 2014 & 2016. 2013 saw Matt Kenseth get the victory. Martin Truex Jr won the race last season and went on to win the Monster Energy Cup Championship. Keselowski has won on the track every even year so is he the favorite this weekend? According to Las Vegas Kevin Harvick is at 2/1 odds. Martin Truez Jr, Kyle Busch, and Kyle Larson are the favorites to win. Kyle leads the point standings entering the race over Harvick. Both drivers have won five times this season.
