Madison County, the morning after, what to do if you were impacted by flash flooding & latest updates and assistance

Madison County emergency responders, public works crews, partner agencies, faith-based organizations, and volunteers continue response and recovery operations following the recent flooding event that impacted communities across the county with the Tates Creek area being the most impacted.

Search and rescue operations have been completed in affected areas, and at this time, no missing persons
have been reported. Emergency personnel remain actively engaged in damage assessments, resource
distribution, and recovery efforts.

Assistance continues to be provided to residents affected by flooding, including sheltering support, basic
needs assistance, and delivery of essential supplies such as drinking water and cleanup resources.
Additional recovery resources are being coordinated as needs are identified and can be requesting through
Madison County EMA in partnership with EnRich.

Madison County Emergency Management is asking all residents who experienced flood-related damage
to homes, businesses, agricultural property, or infrastructure to report damages by calling 859-624-4787,
option 9 and leave your name, address and resource need. These reports are critical in helping local and
state officials accurately assess the extent of the disaster and determine eligibility for potential assistance
programs.

Residents who have unmet needs related to the flooding, including access to supplies, cleanup assistance,
or other recovery resources, are encouraged to contact Madison County Emergency Management at
859-624-4787, option 9.

There are multiple teams in the field today conducting damage assessments of roads, bridges, and other
public infrastructure and this will remain ongoing for several days. Several roadways and bridges
throughout the county have sustained significant damage, and some routes are not recommended for
travel until inspections and repairs can be completed. Citizens are urged to obey all road closure signs and
barricades and avoid unnecessary travel in impacted areas.

Madison County also asks the public to be respectful of private property and the challenges many families
are facing during this recovery period. Individuals should avoid entering damaged areas, crossing
barricades, or visiting impacted neighborhoods unless necessary. Doing so helps ensure the safety of
residents, responders, and utility crews while recovery efforts continue.

“Our focus remains on supporting residents, restoring services, and ensuring the safety of our
community,” said Madison County Judge/Executive, Reagan Taylor. “We appreciate the tremendous
efforts of our first responders, public works teams, community partners, and volunteers who continue to
serve those affected around the clock.”

Additional updates will be provided as recovery operations progress. For flood damage reporting, resource assistance, or recovery information, contact Madison County Emergency Management at 859-624-4787, option 9 or EMA@madisoncountyky.gov.
