Laurel County Correctional Officers this morning were able to locate and bring back into custody previously missing work release inmate Jason Rice.
According to officials, Rice had walked away from a work release assignment near the Levi Jackson Park, 3 miles from London on Highway 229-Old Barbourville Road late yesterday afternoon.
Rice was located in a trailer park off of Barbourville Road near Benge’s Grocery. Laurel County Corrections staff report that they had searched all Tuesday night and Wednesday morning attempting to locate the subject.
The staff report that he is now back into custody, and thank the collective effort of the Correctional and Sheriff’s offices.
