A London man was arrested early this morning following a reported drunk driving incident, which led to the discovery of various drug-related items and large amounts of money.
A traffic stop was conducted near North Laurel Road just north of London after officers observed a vehicle with a busted windshield driving erratically on the roadway. Authorities determined that the driver, later identified as Calvin Bowling of London, was operating on a suspended operator’s license, stemming from a previous DUI charge.
During the investigation, Bowling was reportedly discovered to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, various drug paraphernalia, two glass smoking pipes with residue, a handgun, and a large amount of US currency.
Bowling was arrested and taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center where he was charged with 1st Degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle, Driving on a DUI Suspended License, and Obstructed Windshield.
