After they were called to investigate an armed robbery late Sunday evening, Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies began a search for the suspect who fled the scene.
The robbery took place at East 80 Grocery late Sunday evening, where police say that Brian Napier of London, armed with a knife, demanded money from the store. Prior to deputy arrival, Napier fled the store towards Clay County with an undisclosed amount of money.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office notified Clay County law enforcement. Shortly thereafter, Napier was located hiding in a vehicle in the Horse Creek area of Clay County by Laurel County Deputies. Following a brief struggle with police, Napier was taken into custody and charged with 2nd Degree Robbery, Resisting Arrest, 1st Degree Criminal Mischief, Possession of Burglary Tools, Menacing, and 2nd Degree Disorderly Conduct.
Napier was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
