Madison Southern rolls to win

The Lady Eagles entered day two coming off a 16 point loss to Harrison County Wednesday afternoon. Coming into tonight’s match up they were looking to turn things around. Madison Southern (4-4) started the game on a 7-0 run forcing the Lady Maroons of Pulaski County (2-7) to call a timeout. Following the timeout Pulaski went on a 10-3 run to end the quarter tying things at 10. Second quarter the Eagles picked the intensity up taking the ball to the hoop and getting fouled, they were a perfect 8-8 from the line in the second quarter. Eagles knocked down a couple of three’s and win the quarter 18-10 to take an 8 point lead into the half. Sunni Walters led all scorers with 12 points at the half. Second half began with back to back three pointers from Samanta Cornelison and the Eagles force 7 turnovers and take a 22 point lead in the third quarter. Cornelison with 11 points in the third. The fourth quarter was all Madison Southern as they pull away leading by as many 35 and cruise to a 67-32 win. Cornelison leads the way with 18 points, 4-9 behind the arc, Sunni Walters with 14 points 4 assists and 4 steals and only 1 turnover while running the point, Morgan Flannery with 7 points, Paige Carter 7 points, Aleigh Richardson with 6 points and a team high 12 rebounds, Anna King 6 points, Skylar Sparks 4 points and 7 rebounds, Macie Daniels 3 points, and Reece Estep 2 points. Lady Eagles return to action Friday 12-22 at 1:45 against Pike County Central.
