A London man was recently taken into custody following a police pursuit, starting at the Rockcastle and Madison County Line. According to police citations, Kentucky State Police stated that a black motorcycle operated by Justin S. Seeley was observed at the county line at a high rate of speed. Police state that there was also not a registration plate on the motorbike.
The trooper said they attempted to catch up to the bike but speeds began to exceed 130 mph. After passing the 77 mile marker and slowing down as Berea Police were in the area conducting a traffic stop, Seeley then allegedly continued to attempt to evade the trooper.
The chase continued to the 90 mile marker exit heading north from Berea to Richmond, where Seeley was unable to navigate a curve on the service road, resulting in a crash. Seeley, according to the trooper, then left his motorcycle and fled on foot, leading to a short foot chase.
Once in custody, police realized Seeley had warrants for his arrest for absconding parole supervision, and failure to complete treatment for substance abuse.
He was treated at the hospital before being taken to the Madison County Detention Center and charged with fleeing or evading police on foot and on a motor vehicle, speeding over 26 miles per hour, improper passing, operating on a suspended license, and no registration plates.
