Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials to host 2026 Spring Summit in Richmond

The Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (KBC-LEO) has announced that its 2026 Spring Summit will be taking place April 23–24, 2026, in Richmond, Kentucky. The summit will convene elected officials, community leaders, policymakers, and engaged citizens from across the Commonwealth for two days of collaboration, leadership development, and policy discussion.

Hosted in partnership with the City of Richmond, the summit will focus on advancing effective local governance, strengthening communities, and equipping leaders with the tools needed to address the most pressing challenges facing Kentucky municipalities.

Mayor Robert Blythe of Richmond expressed enthusiasm about hosting the statewide gathering:
“The City of Richmond is honored to welcome members of the Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials to our community. This summit represents an important opportunity to foster dialogue, share best practices, and build meaningful partnerships that benefit cities across Kentucky. We are proud to host leaders who are committed to service, progress, and the future of our communities.”

The Summit will feature keynote speaker Mr. Vincent Evans, Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, DC. The program will also include panel discussions and interactive sessions addressing key topics such as economic development, public safety, workforce initiatives, and civic engagement. Attendees will have valuable opportunities to network and collaborate on strategies that drive meaningful impact on the local level.

Selena Hudson, President of the Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials, emphasized the importance of the summit’s mission:
“Our Spring Summit is more than a meeting; it is a movement. It brings together leaders who are committed to creating stronger, more equitable communities across Kentucky. Now more than ever, collaboration, education, and intentional leadership are essential. We are excited to gather in Richmond to continue this important work and to empower local officials with the tools and connections they need to lead effectively.”
