The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office made a large drug arrest late Sunday evening after a traffic stop was made on the Hal Rogers Parkway in London.
During the traffic stop, police say the driver was determined to be under the influence and driving on a suspended license. Deputies became suspicious of the two subjects, and following a continued investigation, a large quantity of a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine was reportedly found in possession of the driver and the passenger. According to the arrest citation, the bag containing the suspected methamphetamine weighed approximately two pounds.
62 year-old Michael D. Bowling of Tyner was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Driving on a Suspended License, Careless Driving, Failure to Signal. 47 year-old Jimmy E. Cox of Hendersonville, North Carolina was arrested along with Bowling. Together, the two were turned over to federal authorities due to the volume of methamphetamine found in their possession.
