On this edition of Hometown Recovery, we highlight special guest Christy Chaney.
Chaney, an advocate for long-term rehabilitation treatment, tells us all about her experience with addiction, which began when she was just seven years old.
Throughout the rest of her childhood and early years as an adult, Chaney says that she struggled with alcohol and substance abuse. However, after spending years in a downward spiral, she was able to overcome addiction with some help from various recovery programs.
Though Chaney found recovery through treatment, she reiterates that many formerly addicted individuals have found success through various other avenues such as churches.
Watch the video to hear Christy’s full story along with her words of encouragement for anyone who finds themselves where she once was.
