Officials from the Madison County Utilities District are urging customers to continue to boil water intended for consumption until results from tests taken earlier this morning prove that the water is safe.
We spoke to Marvin Dixon, the Environmental Health Program Manager at the Madison County Health Department who gave us additional information on the precautions necessary for both private citizens and those that own food service businesses.
Test results typically come back in around 18 hours after the samples have been sent off, according to officials. This means that a definitive answer regarding the condition of the water should be given sometime close to 11p.m. tonight.
