According to Woodford County officials, two people are now dead following a fatal vehicle collision near the Franklin County line.
The crash occurred early Wednesday morning on Leestown Road, and involved two vehicles in a head-on collision. Both the driver and passenger of one car were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to UK hospital with non-critical injuries.
The roadway was shut down for more than four hours but was reopened hours later.
