After several games of different sports, the Richmond police and fire departments were evenly matched. They met at the Madison Central High School to break the tie over a game of basketball. The police were off to a rough start and the fire fighters had their score doubled at the end of the first half. After half-time, the police upped their game and closed the gap. The firefighters just barley manged to keep ahead and the final score of the game was 56 to 50.
The basketball game was held to raise funds for the Habitat for Humanity. The Habitat is raising funds to build a home for the Baisdens, a local Richmond family. In addition to concessions and a bake sale, a raffle was also held where t-shirts and a Habitat ReStore gift card were given away. Over 900 dollars was raised during the event.
