According to the Scott County Sheriffs Office, a serious deadly traffic collision on I-75 snarled traffic and blocked two lanes for hours Wednesday night.
Police report that at approximately 7 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a two vehicle accident.
When they arrived, they found one of the victims deceased on scene and a second victim was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with serious life-threatening injuries.
The Scott County Sheriff/Georgetown Police Collision Reconstruction Unit was on scene conducting the investigation.
The Scott County Coroner, John Goble, has identified the deceased driver from the traffic collision as Debra Keyser of Lexington.
Keyser was operating a vehicle that left the roadway and struck a tree. Her body will be transported to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and then she will be transferred to Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington.
Mrs. Keyser was an employee of the Fayette County Schools System. The passenger in her vehicle remains in critical condition at the University of Kentucky Medical center.
