Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison confirms to WBON-TV9 that a 17 year old man was killed this afternoon in the accident we reported earlier today on Oakley Wells Road in Madison County. Another young man was taken to the hospital with what is considered non life threatening injuries. Oakley Wells Road runs from Charlie Norris Road to College Hill. Both were in the Ford Ranger pickup truck involved in the fatal wreck. The Madison County Sheriff’s report states the victim was partially ejected from the vehicle.
According to Cornelison, the victim has extended family out of state that they are in the process of notifying at the time of this report. For that reason, his identity will be witheld until later tonight or possibly Wednesday morning.
***UPDATE*** The deceased is identified as 17 year old Edward Tribble of 700 Charlie Norris Road.
The accident occurred around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, with the victim being pronounced dead at the scene around 4:40 p.m. Tribble was a passenger in the pickup truck involved. The case remains under investigation.
