Richmond Police initiated a traffic stop in the Ace Hardware parking lot, which lead to officers removing both Edwards and the passenger from the vehicle and detaining them. After being Mirandized, Edwards stated that he had borrowed the truck and that he did not know who the registered owner of the vehicle was.

According to the citation, it was discovered that Edwards had been operating the vehicle on a suspended operator’s license. Edwards was charged with Receiving Stolen Property (Under $10,000), Failure to Signal, Operating on Suspended Operator’s License, 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
