AW Hamilton is known as a top level competitor and great motivator as a coach. The leader of EKU basketball was fired up yesterday during the 1st official practice of the season for his team.
The teams practices are known for being high energy, just like the style of play that Hamilton expects.

Now that Hamilton has hauled in some top recruits and has retained almost his entire team from last years roster, EKU’s expected to do big things this year on the hardwood.
Many college basketball pundits have EKU as not only the favorite to win the ASUN this year, but also have the Colonels headed to the NCAA tournament as a potential cinderella and bracket buster.
With the perfect mix of talent, experience, depth and a great coaching staff, this year seems like the perfect mix for Colonel fans to see a great team in Richmond.
EKU Basketball has some success in its history, but only a few real memorable teams that fans can look back on.
This team could arguably be one of the best ever to play for the maroon and white.
The team also has the local factor, with guys like Isaiah Cozart, Michael Moreno, Deshawn Jackson and Turner Buttry all hailing from the bluegrass state. Add in some insane talent with Leland Walker, Tae Tae Blanton Tayshawn Comer, and some experienced transfers like Colin Cooper, this EKU team is loaded top to bottom.
