Last week in the district opener Madison Southern (1-6 0-1) found some offense but it wasn’t enough to overcome Montgomery County as they fell 56-34 at home. This week’s opponent the Yellow Jackets of Woodford County (1-6 0-1) had their own problems as they fell to Anderson County 49-19.
On the year Madison Southern has made progress offensively and last week Tobias Storm played his best game of the season. He was 7-10 of passing for 148 yards and he threw 4 touchdowns and he rushed for 101 yards and another score. Top wide receiver Clay Tinsley went down and back up quarterback Walt Smith stepped into his role and had a career night. The freshman carried the ball 5 times for 61 yards and he caught two ball for 84 yards and a score. Zeke Benton caught a pair of touchdowns and Alex Knuckles caught a TD as well.
The Yellow Jackets have not added team or individual stats during the season but they are currently on a three game losing streak.
