A soldier from Richmond, Kentucky has died on Saturday while serving in Ninawa Province, Iraq.
Reportedly 22-year-old Spc. Ryan Dennis Orin Riley was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.
The U.S. Department of Defense reports that he died from a non-combat related incident.
Riley’s death remains under investigation.
Riley was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
According to The Army Times, Riley’s decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon and the Combat Action Badge.
Reports state that Riley enlisted in 2016, he was promoted in 2018 and arrived in Iraq in December.
