One person has died as a result of a head on collision this morning on Boonesboro Road near the Dollar General Store. At the time of this story, all routes are still stalled while first responders and authorities sort through the matter. The fog was extremely dense in the area, especially near the river this morning, and may have been a contributing factor.
State Police advised the roadway would be shuttered for an extended period of time as a result of the accident. Madison County Fire and Rescue, Whitehall Volunteer Fire Dept., and Madison County EMS all have responded to assist.
WBON-TV has also received reports of large trucks re routing onto Redhouse Road, where the height limitations of the railroad overpass were a concern. The name of the deceased has not been released at this time pending notification of family.
