Blazes! County-Wide Burn Ban Lifted

Madison County Judge Executive Reagan Taylor, in consultation with Madison County Fire Chief Tim Gray, lifted the countywide burn ban put into effect by Executive Order on August 9, 2019.

Citizens are still required to adhere to the current Kentucky Forestry Burn Ban that is in effect annually in Kentucky from October 1 through December 15 and February 15 through April 30.  This Forestry Ban states it is illegal to burn anything between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland.  For more information visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/dbnf/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5278374

In addition, citizens residing within the city limits of Richmond and Berea are still required to acquire permits prior to any burning.
