A Corbin man was arrested early Monday morning following a multi-agency pursuit that reached speeds “in excess of 120 mph”, according to the Berea Police Department.
At around 2:45am, Madison County 911 received a call regarding a SUV driving erratically Northbound on I-75 near mile marker 71. Berea Police officers who were located at the 76 overpass observed the vehicle, being operated by 40-year-old Joshua Good of Corbin, aggressively swerving between multiple lanes. When an officer attempted a traffic stop, police say the vehicle began to flee at a high rate of speed.
According to an arrest citation, the vehicle was observed swerving across all three lanes of traffic, randomly braking and accelerating to speeds in excess of 120 mph. Good was pursued by Berea Police and Madison County Sheriff’s Office units to the 95 Northbound exit, where his vehicle took the exit. Officers say the vehicle made several illegal traffic maneuvers before finally stopping at a nearby truck stop parking lot.
Good was ordered out of his vehicle before being detained. According to police, Good had passengers who were cleared from the vehicle. Good reportedly admitted to taking methamphetamine hours earlier.
Good was transported to the Madison County Detention Center where he was charged with several offenses including speeding 26 mph over the speed limit, 1st degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance.
