The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) Executive Board approved the nomination of Berea Mayor Bruce Fraley as the League’s second vice president. Mayor Fraley was selected to fill the position that the current second vice president, Pineville Mayor Scott Madon, will vacate when he is sworn in to the Kentucky State Senate in January.
KLC Executive Director/CEO J.D. Chaney praised Mayor Fraley’s extensive leadership experience and commitment to public service. “Mayor Fraley has been an active and dedicated member of the League for years, and we are thrilled to have him take on this important role. His thoughtful and collaborative approach will be invaluable as we continue to serve our member cities across the commonwealth.”
Mayor Fraley expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve in the role. “I am very grateful for the confidence and trust the Kentucky League of Cities Nominating Committee and Executive Board have placed in me. I am excited about the opportunity to serve as the second vice president of our great organization. While filling Mayor Scott Madon’s shoes is a difficult task, I truly look forward to serving our members and working for the betterment of all cities and our citizens. It will be a privilege and honor to serve.”
Mayor Fraley has been mayor of Berea since 2019 and has long been involved in efforts to improve his city and advocate for cities statewide. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the KLC leadership team.
The Kentucky League of Cities is a membership association of more than 380 cities in Kentucky, providing advocacy, training, and services to city officials and employees. Mayor Fraley joins the KLC leadership team alongside KLC President Benton Mayor Rita Dotson and First Vice President Beaver Dam Mayor Paul Sandefur.
