Richmond Police recently responded to a call detailing domestic violence involving a subject being strangled on South Keeneland Drive.
When the officer arrived, the victim stated that they and Jordan Blasdell had gotten involved in an argument due to Blasdell suspecting they were cheating on him. The altercation allegedly turned physical, and according to the victim, Blasdell began strangling them.
According to the citation, the strangulation lasted several minutes and involved both of Blasdell’s hands being wrapped around the victim’s throat. They later stated that they had difficulty breathing and were afraid that they were going to be rendered unconscious as a result.
The victim broke free of the choke-hold, however Blasdell reportedly attempted to prevent them and their child leaving the room. Blasdell was pushed aside by the victim, who proceeded to walk down the stairs of their residence. At this time, the victim was allegedly strangled again by Blasdell.
Further reading of the citation indicates that the victim also had their right arm grabbed by Blasdell, who reportedly threatened to break their arm. Blasdell then allegedly broke the victim’s phone and fled the area.
Police later located Blasdell and returned him to the scene. Officials say both the victim’s child and sibling stated they observed versions of this incident.
Officers arrested Blasdell and charged him with 4th Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Unlawful Imprisonment, and 1st Degree Strangulation.
