A Berea Police officer was dispatched to the Save-A-Lot located on Richmond Road to speak with a subject who had their debit card stolen and used fraudulently at multiple locations.
Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim who stated that they had the card loaned to them from a family member in order to purchase items at the grocery store. Shortly after the purchases had been made, the card was lost, leading to it being stolen and used at three nearby locations by another individual.
The individual, later identified as Miranda Cole of Berea, allegedly used the stolen card at a tobacco store where she would later be identified by police with help from a witness.
When officers arrived to Cole’s residence, she allowed authorities to search her home, where the stolen card, a carton of cigarettes, and a cell phone were located. Cole reportedly stated the she had found the card on the floor of Save-A-Lot, and admitted to fraudulently purchasing the aforementioned items.
The total amount which was charged to the victim’s card during this time was $222.48.
Cole was charged with Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card (Under $500).
