JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the second straight week, Eastern Kentucky University senior setter Emilee Hill was chosen as the United Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced from its Jacksonville, Florida headquarters on Monday.
Hill, the UAC Preseason Player of the Year and UAC Preseason Setter of the Year, was picked as the first-ever UAC Player of the Week on Aug. 31 after the opening weekend of the season.
The Yorktown, Indiana native had two triple-doubles and a double-double in three matches at the GATA Challenge hosted by Georgia Southern. She averaged 2.93 kills, 5.79 assists, 3.36 digs, 0.57 blocks and 0.43 aces per set.
In the opening match against Radford, Hill finished with a career-high 19 kills, 28 assists, 15 digs, four blocks and three aces. She had 13 kills, a match-high 28 assists, 10 digs, three aces and one block against Prairie View A&M. Hill missed a third triple-double by one kill, finishing with 25 assists, 21 digs, nine kills and three blocks against Georgia Southern.
Hill now has three triple-doubles this season and 18 in her career.
EKU (4-1) will be back in action for three matches at Western Kentucky’s Alyssa Cavanaugh Classic starting on Thursday. The Colonels will begin the event against James Madison, face Pepperdine on Friday and wrap up with the host Hilltoppers on Saturday. All three matches will begin at 4 p.m. ET.
