From a press release issued by the Berea Police Department tonight:
Two deaths resulted from Friday’s collision, 23 year old Dzhoana Ivanova died at the scene, and 21 year old Enkhjin Enkhbold of Mongolia died on 11/01/2017 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
Investigators arrested 37 year old Natasha Gross of Berea KY as a result of the collision investigation. Officers were called to Big Hill Road in reference to a collision involving a black Chevy Avalanche. While they were responding to the collision, they were advised that the Avalanche left the scene. Soon after, officers were called to another collision on White Hall Drive involving the same vehicle.
The caller identified the driver as Natasha Gross, and stated that she struck a mailbox, causing a pedestrian to be struck by the mailbox.
At 8:31pm Friday officers were called to the fatal collision at Walnut Meadow Road and Highway 956, which involved Gross driving the Avalanche.
The preliminary investigation revealed that alcohol could be a factor in the collision, which is still under investigation, and more charges are pending. As a result of the investigation so far, Gross has been charged with the following:Manslaughter 2nd Degree (2 Counts), Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operators License, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.
