The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has informed WBON of the passing of one of their officers.
According to the sheriff’s office, Captain Sam Manley was eating lunch at a Richmond restaurant when he experienced a medical emergency. Emergency services were called, and Captain Manley was transported to Baptist Health Richmond, escorted by fellow Madison County Sheriff’s Officers as well as Richmond Police officers. After he was pronounced deceased, the sheriff’s office says that he was transported to Lakes Funeral Home in Berea with officer escorts.
Before serving his community as part of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Captain Manley was also on the Richmond Police Department staff where he retired as Assistant Chief.
Manley served his country as part of the U.S. Army.
Manley was 71 years old.
WBON wishes to express our condolences to both the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the family of Captain Sam Manley.
